The Story Behind the Music
A reflection of a life's journey that has transcended transatlantic borders. From the bustling fairs of Loch Lomond to the tranquil farms of County Down, Joe Quinn weaves together traditional melodies and personal stories into a tapestry of folk music.
The Journey
From the bustling streets of Glasgow, where his musical journey began, to the sun-soaked towns of Spain where his passion truly blossomed, Joe's guitar has been his constant companion. As a young man, he immersed himself in the diverse folk traditions of Europe, wandering from city to city, collecting stories and songs along the way.
With a guitar in hand and a song in his heart, he's made mates and memories across the globe. Whether it's a bustling city or a cosy living room, Joe's tunes feel right at home. With decades of experience, his intricate fingerpicking style draws inspiration from the world's folk traditions, infusing his music with a unique energy and depth.

The Album
Recorded in the historic surroundings of Big Feet Studio in Wexford, Ireland, these ten tracks represent the culmination of a lifetime in folk music. Produced by Sammy Homer, the album features a rich blend of traditional and contemporary folk arrangements, brought to life by some of the finest musicians in the genre.
Each song carries its own story - from the local history captured in "Balloch Fayre" to the personal memories of "Little Farm," written after Joe's mother passed away, remembering summers spent in County Down.
"I've always believed that every good song tells a story. Sometimes it's a story of a place, like Balloch Fayre with its tales of the old horse markets and village celebrations. Sometimes it's deeply personal, like Little Farm. And sometimes it's about keeping important stories alive, like Closing Us Down, which captures a crucial piece of Glasgow's history."
